Your team uses AI. Is the work actually improving?
Five questions to move from interesting answers to tasks you can delegate and verify.
Start with a task, not a tool
Choose a frequent, bounded activity: drafting a proposal, categorizing requests or summarizing a report. Identify who receives the output and what they need to use it.
Define what good work looks like
A convincing answer is not enough. Agree required facts, permitted sources, format and review criteria. In a sales proposal, for example, AI must not invent prices or terms.
Provide context before asking for speed
Share only necessary, authorized information. Explain who the work serves, which decision it supports and what boundaries apply. Instructions should require questions when information is missing.
Delegate preparation; retain decisions
Separate drafting from sending, analyzing from approving, and recommending from executing. Define who verifies the result and which actions require approval. Responsibility still has an owner.
Evaluate the whole job
Compare preparation, review and correction time against the previous process. If quality holds and total effort improves, document the practice and test another task. Clarity, context, command, control and continuity form the basis of EOS 5C.
